Firefox 3-Bigger and Badder than Ever
Hello there readers, old and new (hopefully),
I have just downloaded the new Firefox 3, adding to the 8,000,000+ that were downloaded on day 1 of the release. The design is definitely revamped, I can say that. It is even spell-checking this blog, so there shouldn't be any errors, for those picky readers. Also, for those of you trying to give us viruses through Firefox 3, sorry! Living up to its old promise, it is truly the safest web browser around, notifying you immediately about bad sites and letting you check licenses (like IE7). Also, its downloads can be paused and resumed at any time, but there really isn't much of a need since it is so FAST! I just got on using an average-strength wireless signal to a high bandwidth site in less than 2 seconds (Yes, I counted). There are a few things that are for the negative, but can be changed. The most obvious is the super-large back button, compared to the original, but can easily be removed. Also, if you wish to remove history or set preferences, you enter into the "awesome bar", or the new address bar with drop-down memory from your previous sites and bookmarks, about:config, and receive a message saying that it may void your warranty if you continue. The one thing is, ONLY continue if you know what the heck you are doing and aim to do, otherwise, say goodbye to that perfectly-good download, and you can't blame Firefox, because you promised to be careful :). Another new feature is that with e-mail, you don't NEEd to open an external mail source, especially if you use Yahoo! Mail or Gmail. There's a new app. for that. To find out how, watch the next podcast, Episode Two, or visit http://www.cnettv.com/9742-1_53-50002641.html, from our friends at CNET, to see it RIGHT NOW! Overall, I like the new design, and the "awesome bar", almost like the memory in IE (Internet Explorer) 7 that drops down when you type, except this gives you titles, and it takes less letters, too, to find out what you need.

The All-New Friday Feed: Firefox 3
In the first 24 hours of its release, over 8 million downloads were chalked up for Firefox 3. This outweighed the release of Opera 9.5. Now that it is out, our friends at CNET have this video which talks a little bit about it and figuring it out. A feature on this is set for next week's podcast on our Friday Feed. Enjoy.
